Healthcare Campaign in Libongo: Impact and Achievements

Introduction

The recent medical campaign in Libongo, organized in partnership with SEFAC and ASCOVIME, aimed to address the healthcare needs of the local population. With a focus on providing free and accessible medical services, the initiative delivered a range of consultations, treatments, and essential supplies to improve the well-being of the community.

Summary of Activities

  1. Free Medical Consultations with Distribution of Medication
    • Over the course of the campaign, patients received free medical consultations. Medications were provided free of charge based on individual diagnoses.
  2. Dental Consultations and Care
    • 76 patients were treated in dentistry, benefiting from free dental care and treatment.
  3. Ophthalmology Services
    • 255 patients were consulted for eye health.
    • Distributed 209 pairs of reading glasses and 30 pairs of optical glasses.
    • 36 bottles of eye drops were provided free of charge to patients in need.
  4. Surgical Interventions
    • 150 patients underwent various surgical procedures, performed free of charge under different anaesthetic modalities.
  5. Support for Pregnant Women
    • 90 pregnant women from the village and surrounding areas received delivery kits and mosquito nets.
    • Free ultrasound services were also provided to ensure prenatal care.

This campaign underscored the commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and addressing the specific needs of underserved populations in Libongo. The collaboration between SEFAC and ASCOVIME continues to bring impactful healthcare services to remote regions.
